Ribbon Cutting
Hello Families and Community,
Originally it was announced that class assignments would be posted tomorrow, August 7th. We are still experiencing some shuffling of teachers and classrooms. Because of this our goal for class assignments to be posted on Q/Skyward is Wednesday afternoon before the ribbon cutting. Thanks for your patience as we get these classes updated!

From our Council PTA:
Dear Families,
As we begin planning for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year, we are excited to start building the Juniper Basin PTA board—and we need your help!
We are currently seeking volunteers to fill several key positions, including President, Treasurer, Secretary, as well as a variety of other board and committee roles. If you have ever considered getting involved, this is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our school community.
The PTA plays an important role in supporting our students, teachers, and staff. Its mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities. Research consistently shows that students achieve more when families are involved in their education, and PTA provides a direct way to be part of that success.
We like to think of PTA as the “sprinkle on top” of the many layers it takes to educate our children. While teachers and staff provide the foundation, PTA helps bring connection, support, and fun—creating memorable experiences and strengthening our school community.
Being part of PTA is truly an honor. Members serve as advocates for every child in the school, working closely with teachers and administration to support student success and build a positive, inclusive environment.
As a growing school, Juniper Basin especially benefits from strong family involvement. Whether you can volunteer your time, share your ideas, or support through donations, every contribution makes a difference. (And yes—we promise any funds raised go right back into creating fun and enriching experiences for our students!)

Call to Action:
The PTA board will be assembling on Monday, May 18th at 6:30 pm at the Desert Sky Library, and we would love to have all nominations submitted by Friday, May 15th. If you are interested in serving or would like to nominate yourself or someone else, please reach out before the deadline.
We would love to hear from you and answer any questions you may have about available roles.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and school community.

Class Assignments

Dear Parents/Guardians,

This is the time of year we start thinking about class assignments for next year. Obviously, this is an important and complicated process.
First, please know it is our teachers that create the class lists under the guidance of the administration. Teachers from the same grade level create the class lists for their students moving up to the next grade. Second, there are a variety of factors that teams consider that contribute to the ultimate placement of each student: ratio of boys to girls, academics, behavior, learning styles and preferences, student combinations, special factors (IEPS, 504s, health concerns), etc.
We have found that specific teacher requests create difficult classroom dynamics. The information you share with the current teacher will be considered, but does not ensure placement with a particular teacher or specific students. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Also, please let us know as soon as possible if you are not planning on attending Juniper Basin next year.
We value your input as an essential part of our team at Juniper Basin. If you choose to reach out to your current teacher, please do not request a specific teacher. Instead, provide your current teacher with anything you would like us to consider and why, so we can make an effective decision. You can submit that information through an email.
Thank you for your willingness to work with us to get our next school year started off well!
